About Rome
Rome serves as the county seat of Floyd County and the principal city of its metropolitan statistical area in Northwest Georgia. Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, it is the largest city in that region and the 26th-largest in the state. The city had a population of 37,713 at the 2020 census.
