About Soledad
Located in the Salinas Valley 21 miles southeast of Salinas, Soledad traces its roots to Mission Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, founded by Fermín de Lasuén in 1791. Catalina Munrás developed the town on her Rancho San Vicente in the 1860s before it incorporated as a city in 1921. The area is now known for its restored mission and vineyards within the Monterey wine region.
