About Tejupilco de Hidalgo
Tejupilco de Hidalgo serves as the seat of its municipality in the State of Mexico, situated about 100 kilometres southwest of Toluca along Federal Highway 34. The name derives from Náhuatl for 'between the toes', while the addition of 'De Hidalgo' honors Father Miguel Hidalgo's role in initiating the Mexican War of Independence.
