About Twin Lakes
Twin Lakes is a village in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, located east of U.S. Highway 12 along the Illinois‑Wisconsin border. The community grew around nearly 1000 acres of surface water formed by the twin lakes of Mary and Elizabeth, which historically attracted vacationers to resorts and ice harvesters during the era of icebox refrigeration. Today many houses serve recreational purposes while the lakes remain a popular destination for visitors.
