About Waveland
Waveland is a coastal city in Hancock County, Mississippi, situated on the Gulf of Mexico and part of the Gulfport–Biloxi Metropolitan Statistical Area. Incorporated in 1972, the community has faced significant challenges from major storms. It was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Camille in 1969 and again by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Buccaneer State Park
Buccaneer State Park is a public recreation area located off U.S. Highway 90 and Beach Boulevard, straddling the line between Waveland and Clermont Harbor. Situated on the Gulf of Mexico, the park was entirely rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina destroyed all its buildings in 2005.
The park straddles the boundary between two communities: Waveland and Clermont Harbor.
