Carleton Place sits in Lanark County, Eastern Ontario, roughly 55 kilometres west of downtown Ottawa at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 7. The town is positioned midway between Perth, Almonte, Smiths Falls, and the national capital. Visitors may not know that Canada's Mississippi River, a tributary of the Ottawa River, flows directly through the community.
