The African American Museum in the Mott Section at 110 North Franklin Street showcases local and national African American artists and hosts events such as Black History Month. The 6,000‑sq‑ft building was renamed on 18 May 2021 to honor long‑time directors. It opened in 1970 and is operated by the Museum Services Division of Nassau County.
