About Iqaluit
Iqaluit serves as the capital and largest community of Nunavut, holding the distinction of being Canada's northernmost city. Situated on a large coastal bay, it was previously known as Frobisher Bay from 1942 until its traditional Inuktitut name was restored in 1987.

Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum
Located at 212 Sinaa, the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum showcases Nunavut history and Inuit culture. It occupies a former Hudson's Bay Company building that was relocated on tracks from Apex to Iqaluit before renovation.
The museum was founded in 1969 by two employees of Canada's Department of Indian Affairs.
