Fort Sanders Guardhouse

🎟️ Attraction in Wyoming, Laramie, WY

Located in the Wyoming neighborhood, the Fort Sanders Guardhouse is a remnant of a wooden fort built in 1866 on the Laramie Plains. Originally intended to protect travelers on the Overland Trail, the site later served Union Pacific railroad workers before the town of Laramie was established nearby.

Something unique: The fort was originally named Fort John Buford before being renamed after General William P. Sanders.
