Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site
ποΈ Attraction in West Side, Laramie, WY
The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site is located in the West Side neighborhood and offers guided tours of a former federal penitentiary that was built in 1872. The facility operated as a state prison until 1901, then served as an agricultural experiment station for the University of Wyoming until 1989 before opening to the public in 1991.
Something unique: It was built in 1872 and is one of the oldest buildings in Wyoming.
