About Santiago Tuxtla
Founded in 1525 but not granted municipal status until 1932, Santiago Tuxtla is a small agricultural municipality in Veracruz with origins tracing back to lands given to Hernán Cortés. The region preserves unique traditions like the Acarreo de Niño Dios procession and houses Olmec artifacts at the Museo Regional Tuxteco.
